To the Men of the Parish:
 
The St. Florian Holy Name Society is in search of active, Catholic Men, eighteen years of age or older to join and serve in Jesus’ name. We are a group of men that do service for the church and community while devoted to the Most Holy Name of Jesus. 
We meet once per month, generally on the second Friday in the Gymnasium at 7:00 pm. Our first meeting will be scheduled on September 5, 2025. The dues are $5.00 per year, which has not changed for the last 20 years. New, fresh ideas are always welcomed to our fraternal order. 

The men of the Holy Name Society are involved with fund raisers every year; for example, a monthly raffle which would begin in January, a Pasta Dinner in February and a Parish Cook Out at the end of May, 2026. With the funds we raise, we have helped out St. Florian Parish (now Christ Our Light), the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and other church – community functions (Toys for Tots). 
I request that you give us a try, you have nothing to lose. It is an enjoyable way of fraternizing, serving God, your church and neighbors.

My name is Martin Enciso. My wife is Victoria. We have been married for over 30 years. Martin Jr, Nicodemus, Noel, and Maya are our 4 adult children. We have 2 grandchildren (Anastasia, and Vicente) with a 3rd on the way. We have lived in the East Side neighborhood for the past 5 years. 

I have been ordained as a Deacon since 2011. My family and I have participated in several faith communities starting with St. Sylvester Parish in Logan Square, Epiphany Parish, Good Shepherd Parish, and St. Agnes of Bohemia Parish all in the Little Village Neighborhood. We ministered to the communities at Our Lady of the Mount Parish and Mary Queen of Heaven Parish in Cicero. Victoria continues to participate as a Confirmation Catequist at St Agnes of Bohemia Parish.

As a Deacon Couple, we have prioritized our ministry and participation on helping others to recognize God within them regardless of the stage of life they are in, a teenager or an adult. We wholeheartedly testify to the saying that God takes care of our family while we take care of his. We are so thankful that Our Lord has always walked with us, interceding even in moments when our faith is the only thing that helps us to see when we do not recognize that he is there. 

We are thankful to God as he continues to open doors and guides us through them. He has most graciously because of the asking of many prayer warriors led us to Christ, Our Light Parish. We are thankful for the hospitality and open arms that you as a people of God have welcomed us with. We pray that God will continue to do his good work in this our parish community. God Bless.

Mi nombre es Martin Enciso. Mi esposa es Victoria. Llevamos más de 30 años de casados. Nuestros cuatro hijos adultos son Martin Jr., Nicodemo, Noel, y Maya. Tenemos dos nietos en Anastasia y Vicente con un tercero en camino. Somos residentes del vecindario de East Side por casi cinco años. 

Yo fui ordenado en el año 2011. Mi familia y yo participamos en varias comunidades de fe empezando con la parroquia de San Silvestre and el vecindario de Logan Square, las Parroquias de Epifanía, Buen Pastor, y Santa Inés de Bohemia and la Villita. Hemos servido and las Parroquias de Nuestra Señora del Monte y María Reina del Cielo en Cícero. Victoria continua como Catequista del Sacramento de Confirmación en Santa Inés de Bohemia.

Como una pareja diaconal, prior atizamos nuestro ministerio y participación en ayudar que otros reconozcan a Dios dentro de ellos sin importar tu edad, seas un adolecente o adulto. Testificamos de todo corazón el dicho que dice: Encargate de mi familia que yo me encargare de la tuya. Estamos agradecidos que Nuestro Señor ha caminado siempre con nosotros, intercediendo especialmente en momentos cuando nuestra fe es lo único que nos deja verlo porque sin ella no lo reconocemos. 

Estamos agradecidos a Dios quien sigue abriendo puertas y nos guia a pasar por ellas. El ha sido muy gentil por las oraciones de todos aquellos guerreros de oración al traernos a esta comunidad parroquial de Cristo, Nuestra Luz. Estamos agradecidos por su hospitalidad con la cual nos han recibido   con brazos abiertos ustedes Pueblo de Dios. Oramos que Dios continúe llevando sus gran obras a cabo en esta nuestra comunidad parroquial. Dios los bendiga.

Queridos Compañeros Feligreses:

Los Hombres de la Sociedad del Santo Nombre de San Florián en la Parroquia Cristo Nuestra Luz, desean agradecer a todos los que asistieron y participaron en la comida al aire libre. Muchos de ustedes se acercaron a mí y a mis compañeros miembros diciendo que disfrutaron de la comida. Todos tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer y conversar con otros miembros de la parroquia. De eso se trata, de la confraternización. Un agradecimiento especial a nuestros panaderos voluntarios.

Many of you came to me and my fellow members stating you enjoyed the food. We all had a chance to meet and converse with other members of the Parish. The St. Florian Holy Name Society is having a COOK OUT on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 5 pm through 7 pm in the St. Florian Gym. Tickets go on sale beginning April 27, 2025 and may be purchased after each Mass at Christ Our Light Parish (St. Florian). The price is $10/ticket and 130 tickets will be sold. You must have a ticket to enter. Price includes to following menu:

• Hamburger
  
• Bratwurst
• Potato Salad
  
• Coleslaw
  
• drink and desserts
  

With all the WONDERFUL bakers at our Parish, we are asking for donations of baked goods. You can bring your baked goods to the gym beginning at 1 pm., Saturday, May 31st. It is time to get together and come together as a Parish.

La Sociedad del Santo Nombre de San Florián ofrecerá una comida al aire libre el Sábado 31 de Mayo de 2025, de 5 pm a 7 pm, en el Gimnasio de San Florián. Las entradas saldrán a la venta a partir del 27 de Abril de 2025 y podrán adquirirse después de cada misa en la Parroquia Cristo Nuestra Luz (San Florián). El precio es de $10 por entrada y se venderán 130. Es necesario tener una entrada para entrar. El precio incluye el siguiente menú: 

• hamburguesa
  
• bratwurst
• ensalada de papa
• ensalada de col
• bebida y postres

Con todos los maravillosos panaderos de nuestra parroquia, solicitamos donaciones de productos horneados. Pueden traer sus productos horneados al gimnasio a partir de la 1 pm del Sábado 31 de Mayo. Es hora de unirnos como parroquia.
